OAR offers a wide variety of subsidized trips to full-time students, faculty, staff, and eligible dependents ranging from kayaking to skiing. Registering for a trip with OAR has never been easier with the online registration portal. All prices shown in the portal are list prices until you are logged in with your student account.
Front Country Camping
Looking for a relaxing outdoor getaway without venturing too deep into the backcountry? Our front country camping trips offer a comfortable and scenic overnight experience in designated campgrounds with access to amenities like picnic tables, fire pits, and restrooms. Spend your time hiking nearby trails, cooking meals over an open fire, and enjoying the sounds of nature under a starry sky. Whether you're a seasoned camper or new to sleeping outdoors, this trip is a great way to enjoy the beauty of the wilderness without the weight of a heavy pack.
Kayak Touring
Join us for a day of exploring the James River in our stable and efficient sit-on-top kayaks. Perfect for beginners and experienced paddlers alike, these trips offer a fun and relaxing way to enjoy the water while learning proper paddling techniques and water safety. Tubing

Skiing

Hiking
