Paid Memberships

The Weinstein Center for Recreation offers a limited number of paid memberships. Part-time students, part-time employees, plus-one and alumni may join at any time. All other prospective members should submit a waitlist card to be added to our contact list.

Membership Office Hours:

Membership Office is located behind the free weight area on the 1st floor of the Weinstein Center for Recreation. For all paid membership inquiries, please contact wcrmemberships@richmond.edu or call (804) 662-3086. For in-person transactions, please visit the Membership Office Monday-Friday 9am-Noon or contact wcrmemberships@richmond.edu to schedule an appointment outside of those hours.

Membership Rates:

Student (Credit)
Part-time individual: $350/year
Part-time family: $650/year

Employee
Part-time individual: $350/year
Part-time family: $650/year

Alumni
Young alumni (graduated within 10 years): $350/year
Individual: $500/year
Family: $850/year

Community
Individual: $700/year
50+ years: $400/year
Family: $1,000/year

Summer
College Students only: $100/summer

Must show valid University ID. Summer Memberships provide access between May 9, 2022-August 21, 2022. All summer memberships will expire August 21, 2022 and fees will not be pro-rated. 

Plus One Memberships ($350/year):

Individual membership for someone in the same household as someone who is eligible for free membership (e.g. full-time employee, full-time student).

Family memberships may include two adults and dependents under the age of 24. All must be living in the same household to be eligible for a family membership.

Guest Rates:

Daily
Guest Fee: $10/day
College Student Guest Fee (must present college ID): $5/day

Weekly (7 consecutive days)
Guest Fee: $50
College Student Guest Fee (must present college ID): $25

Guests must be sponsored and accompanied by a Weinstein Center for Recreation member on each visit.

 

COVID 19 Membership Update:

Effective Monday, May 2 employee dependents, retirees, retiree dependents and paid members were invited to return to the Weinstein Center. We have added an updated version of the FAQ document

Other important reminders include:

  • Monthly Membership bank drafts resumed on June 16, 2022.
  • Expiration dates for annual memberships have been extended for the number of days equal to the duration of time from March 17, 2020 until your original expiration date. The Membership Office will reach out as your new expiration approaches.
  • The FusionGo App is needed to access the Weinstein Center through the turnstiles. We no longer use the hand scanners. Please visit the URec Resources page for information about how to download. You can view fitness class schedules and register, and stay up-to-date by allowing the alerts and notifications feature.
  • As a reminder, members and guests under the age of 16 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times. Please review the full Dependent Child and Young Adult Policy.
  • The Personal Training program and Fitness Classes are active.
  • The Massage Therapy program has resumed and we are completing sessions purchased before the COVID restrictions. We have not yet resumed sales for new massage sessions.
  • Finally, please remember we are a student focused facility. This means our facility is unique in many ways: we limit the number of community memberships in order to ensure our students have adequate equipment and time in the facility; we periodically close and alter our facility and pool schedule due to home sporting events, special events, and University breaks/holidays; and we have limited REC SWIM hours due to varsity programs, club sports and aquatic programming sharing one pool.

Weinstein Center for Recreation General Policies

Weinstein Center Portal

The Weinstein Center Portal is now available for on-line program registration and to purchase massage therapy and personal training sessions. Visit services.recreation.richmond.edu to log-in, make your selections and pay using Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover credit cards.

Be sure to log-in to the portal before making your selections in order to receive the correct pricing. Full-time students and full-time employees click the orange button on the log-in page and use your UR Net ID and 16 digit password. All other members will use a local account to access the portal. Please contact Member Services at (804) 289-8361 to set-up your account.

Weinstein Center Membership Subsidy Program

Weinstein Center for Recreation Membership Subsidy Program is the result of a generous gift from a member who wanted to help subsidize the cost of the Weinstein Center memberships for people who may need financial assistance.
