Fitness

Members of the Weinstein Center have access to a variety of fitness classes, as well as personal training, health assessments, and special programs.

Fitness Classes

No registration is required and no payment is necessary for Weinstein Center fitness classes.

  • All full-time employees/dependants/students will have access to all fitness classes without using tuition remission.
  • All community and paid members will have access to all fitness classes without paying a fee.

Spinning is a high-intensity class that is sure to get your heart rate up while really working your legs and glutes. The class starts with a brief warm up, includes sprints, climbs, and jumps, and ends with a nice cool down and stretch.

Masters swimming is for all swimming levels and ages. The Strong Spider class will focus on developing overall strength and conditioning by utilizing various forms of nontraditional lifts and movements. Exercises will consist of timed intervals on stations with atlas stones, pine logs, prowlers, farmers walk, tire flip etc. Come prepared to work hard and try something new!

High-intensity interval training is intended to improve performance with short training sessions. The interval training class is designed to burn fat and build cardio endurance and strength in a short and intense workout. We will be doing a 2:1 ratio of work to rest intervals using kettle bells, battling ropes, BOSU’s, jump ropes, bands, medicine balls, body weight exercises, and core work. We will start with a five-minute warm-up and progress through eight circuits of exercises at a high intensity, then rest for two minutes before starting another round of eight exercises. HIIT is a fast-moving class that quickly builds cardiovascular endurance as well as strength.

Do your best to exercise throughout the entirety of each circuit, only resting after the timer goes off.
