Sport Clubs
The University of Richmond Sport Club Program provides the means for all students to enjoy recreation, instruction, and competition in a range of activities. Sport clubs give students the chance to play in non-varsity sports while developing skills in administration, organization, and fundraising.
The Richmond program has expanded from four clubs just 20 years ago to more than 25 active clubs today. Approximately 500 students are involved in sport clubs.
Recognizing the benefits of sport clubs to our students and to the institution—as well as the rapid growth of sport club programs nationally—the University is now moving forward with plans to increase funding to all clubs and develop a varsity club.
Leading in this transition is the men’s lacrosse club. Learn about the plan to recognize and fund the University’s first varsity club.
